OUTDOOR PURSUITS FOR ALL GRADE 4-6 STUDENTS
Friday, January 11, 2019 & Friday, February 15, 2019

Dear Parents,

Ski Club has now become Outdoor Pursuits!
All grade 4-6 students will be attending, and get to pick between two options for each full-day trip:
OPTION A: Park Pursuits to snowshoe, skate and cross-country ski, or
OPTION B: Rabbit Hill to ski or snowboard.

Please send a bag lunch (or money for concession at Rabbit Hill only) for your child.
Dress for the weather!
All buses leave the school at 9:30am.
Buses will return to Leo Nickerson by 3:15pm for regular dismissal.

OPTION A: Park Pursuits (no cost!)
-January 11 we will be going to Victoria Park to snowshoe and skate.
-February 15 we will be going to Hawrelak Park to snowshoe, skate, and cross-country ski.
-Students are encouraged to bring their own skates, snowshoes, or cross-country skis. The school also has sets of snowshoes and cross-country skis for students to share.
-Please let the office know if you would like to volunteer for the day. A volunteer form will then be sent home and will need to be returned completed. Volunteers should be prepared to drive, as the buses are full with students.
-Hot chocolate will be provided to help warm up!

OPTION B: Rabbit Hill (costs listed on registration form)
-If the student is bringing their own equipment, please arrange drop off and pick up at the school.
-Please let the office know if you would like to volunteer for the day. A volunteer form will then be sent home and will need to be returned completed. We receive a limited number of complimentary lift passes and rentals for our volunteers. Volunteers should be prepared to drive, as the buses are full with students.
-Ski lessons are included as part of the Rabbit Hill package. Group lessons are available from level A (Beginner) to level D (Advanced). After receiving their equipment, students are expected to meet at the lessons location.
-Helmets are mandatory at Rabbit Hill and are included in the cost of the equipment rental. Snow blades cannot be rented through the school.

Registration, consent and payment (Parent Portal, cash, or cheque payable to St. Albert Public Schools) must be returned for BOTH events by
Thursday, December 13, 2018

Any refunds due to cancellation will be applied to the student’s account (as a credit or towards outstanding fees).
